Do I need trickle vents?
Installations from 16th June 2022 will be affected by the new rules for ventilation set out in approved document F.
- If you are having your windows and doors replaced and you don’t have trickle vents, you will need to have them on your new windows.
- If you have trickle vents, your replacement windows must have trickle vents.
- If you are replacing less than 30% of the total of external windows and doors and you don’t have trickle vents, then you will not need to have trickle vents but may want to consider them.
Whilst we understand that trickle vents are not aesthetically pleasing, we must follow the rules to comply with building regulations.
We have linked a video from FENSA, explaining the changes.
